Abusing of new technologies is an issue increasingly present in our society. As a rule, huge companies have created a lot of objects to facilite simple actions. Although these items have meant a key breakthrough in our diary life, they make people be absorbed ignoring the surrounding environment. 

One answer would be to put ourselves a time limit using devices such as mobile phones, laptops, consoles, tablets... Thus, we would be connected only a certain time and the rest of it, we could enjoy outdoor activities with family and friends. I would also like to highlight that this effective rule is not new and many people practice it.

Another solution is to be conscious that when you stay with friends and family, you must avoid the use of devices. As we can see, a lot of people who use mobile phones on the streets, ignore other people who are with them face to face. Through the application of the previous advice, everybody would appreciate their surround.

In summary, new technologies cause dependence and the need to be "online" all the time. It is noteworthy to mention that both the "disease" and the "cure" is in us, therefore we have the power to reduce the use of these devices. As a result, we will live in a better world based on non-technology values.

Complete essay positioning myself against something most people agree

Nowadays, a lot of plastic surgeries are made in order to "make people" prettier and sexier. Above all, this fact happens in the world of famous people. They are able to pay a lot of money so that they are seen better and can get more fame. It seems a condition to enter the world of fame; a condition which celebrities pay in all senses.

From my viewpoint, the huge amount of money spent on plastic surgeries is not necessary. As we can see, there are a lot of people who need surgery to diseases and cannot pay it. I consider a nonsense remaining at hospital for a change of face or body while others are on the brink of death.

I would also like to highlight that I disagree with it because a person who changes his/her physical appearance, does not love himself/herself. All of us were born with virtues and defects, so we should accept it. Every time that a person goes to an operating room, loses a part of his/her identity.

In brief, it is said not to be ethic (a concept which defines a person who fulfill sensible values of their culture, society or era). As far as I am concerned, being a person without surgeries made is an honour and a fact of which being proud of. Everybody should change their mind instead of their bodies to create a less superficial world.

Composition + Quote

Disasters on the environment can be caused in different ways: by human or by the weather. As a rule, they trigger material and human losses which make people lose a lot of money. Although sometimes there are precursors which warn their arrival, they occur suddenly without notice.

Natural disasters embrace the huge amount of material and human losses caused by natural phenomena such as huracans and floods. In the first place, huracans produce strong winds able to take away houses, cars... Secondly, floods cover with water lowland densitely populated.

Manmade disasters include the same consequences as natural disasters. Nevertheless, they are caused by different factors like river pollution, oil spill, leakage of radioactive materials, logging... It is thought that these incidents would be avoided through measures and awareness of citizens.

To summary, disasters on the environment affect humans and their material goods in different levels. It is noteworthy to mention that they would be reduced if people take more prevention measures.  Anyway, as they appear suddenly, we have no time to act in order to avoid extensive damage.

Introduction and conclusion of an essay

INTRODUCTION

As we can see, there are different types of drugs and different ways of taking them. They are used chiefly by teenagers who want to experience "new sensations". Above all, their use is illegal because they produce harmful effects on human body despite young people do not realize.

CONCLUSION

To sum up, drugs are illegal substances which affect negatively our health. However, teenagers who take them are not aware of the consequences and become drug addicts. Anyway, autorities ban them and, in the future, they will disappear creating a better world.

An issue I consider important

Piracy is an issue carried out by adults and children around the world as a way to save money. Above all, this term covers both the distribution and the download of copyrighted works (movies, music, games, books, softwares...). It is done for free, so each time more and more people unload files of all types.

Regarding to films, piracy is said to make lose money to film directors and characters. However, the lost amount is nothing comparing with their entire salaries. I would also like to highlight that if cinema's ticket and food there weren't so expensive, people would go to the cinema frequently.

In the field of music, singers and managers earn less money due to the fact that people prefer to get false CDs with low costs to original discs. As we can see, "top manta" is a well-known way to spread the habit. The government and the police can put in jail or put fines to people relationed with this issue.

In brief, piracy is an illegal theme to save money on any file througout its download by the Internet. Unfortunately, autorities punish those who practice it, rather than encouraging people to stop doing it. However, people are not going to stop it unless the legal way is cheaper or similar.

Thesis statement and outline

Gun ownership should be forbidden because it causes a lot of crimes, increases violence, and takes children to a bad education.

I. Crimes are increased due to the bad use of guns.

   A) Killers use guns to kill people as if it was their hobby.

   B) Thieves use guns to get expensive objects for free.

II. Violence is used like the solution of any problem.

    A) A gun makes you feel self-confident to do actions with violence

    B) You can threaten somebody to do all you want.

III. A bad education causes mental troubles without solution.

      A) It could cause an unhappy childhood plenty of bad habits.

      B) It could create a person with mental troubles in the future.

If you don't want a violent environment around you, don't use or buy guns!

Exams period

As we know, this time is full of stress, sleepless night, nervousness, rising early... and, of course, pessimism. I do not why but we tend to think badly of our future results and that fact is a problem which affect our self-confidence. Above all, we sould be proud of what we have studied and do our best to get a high mark. It is noteworthy to mention that a little concentration and positivity at the day of the exam would help us... and a little luck as well. Anyway, it is not the end and we have the possibility to pass the exam on another date in case of fail so... luck for everyone!

Freewriting

Around the world, a huge variety of animals exist. Above all, there are animals which you can take care of as a pet and others which belong to the wildlife. Having a pet is not an easy issue owing to the fact that it needs many cares. At first, it needs an adequate space for living; depending on the kind of animal, it will need a big or a little space. Secondly, it needs food for surviving; you must not give it food which is not suitable or it could die. At third, it needs being washing to avoid getting sick. Appart from the cares, the most remarkable is that a pet isn't a toy with which you can play. Most people should learn this fact because some of them treat animals as if they didn't have feelings. In other way, if people get fed up of having a pet, they leave them in the street. Unfortunately, this issue happen each day more frequently of what it should. As a result, we can see more and more animals walking alone. One answer it would be giving them to others or even leaving them in organizations that care for them. At the previous moment in which you decice to have a pet, you must be clear that it has to be cared and never left.

A complex Problem/Solution composition

To start, pollution is an important problem which affects both the environment (nature spaces and animals) and people. As we can see, there are a lot of kinds of pollution, such as air, water or land pollution. All of them contain toxic substances which could cause health problems.

One solution is to create or simply to form part of organizations like "Greenpeace". From my viewpoint, the amount of 'green' organizations is growing every year because the interest about the world has increased. These ones fight against huge companies and the government to save our world of being destroyed.

Another answer is the laws. To avoid that factories dump rubbish, it should set laws which forbid it. As a result, rivers would not be polluted by factories. The air would be clean with this type of law because factories throw rubbish by air.

In brief, pollution is a controversial theme which concerns everyone. If wildlife disappears, we all will disappear in the future too. Therefore, the government should set laws and control its fulfillment. Then, we would live in a better world.

Christmas season

It is an annually period, from late November to January, which most people celebrate. Each country has their own customs, so people celebrate it in a different way from each others. However, there is a huge amount of symbols which we all relate with this time (trees, carols, reindeers, bells, stars, snow, wreaths...).

At first glance, the most important symbol is the Christmas tree. The most remarkable fact is that decorating the tree is a tradition which families make together. As we can see, people decorate it with garlands, electric lights, figures (like angels and bells)... and a star on the top, which represent the Star of Bethlehem from the Nativity.

From my viewpoint, carols are an important part of what we call Christmas. Generally speaking, it is practised by young children with illusion, while adults only sing so that their kids have a good time. As a rule, songs are accompanied by tambourines and zambombas; songs transmit a loving environment.

For instance, the snow is a fact which show that this season is coming. Nevertheless, this atmospheric phenomenon does not happen in all places; it usually occurs at countries in the north of the globe because of the low temperatures. In other way, the season is represented by a cold weather in areas in which snow is not typical.

In brief, Christmas is a period of tradition which make families be together more than ever. They practice many customs and a lot of symbols are seen at this time. Although in different ways, most people spend this holiday with happiness, love and hope.

Something I really like but most people don't

There are a lot of studies which show that in some places, such as the United States or Spain, overweight exists. This fact is real owing to the fact that people prefer to eat fast-food and they do not do exercise. From my viewpoint, sports and exercise are good ways to keep on fit. I really like to run, play football or basketball, swim... Since I was a child, I have been practising all of them and, nowadays, I consider myself a healthy person. There is a huge amount of possibilities to do exercise. For instance, you can go to a gym. Gyms are the best option because they have got a lot of activities to do (zumba, dance classes...) and a lot of devices to use. Although I have never been in one, I would like to go. In short, I love sport and people who do not practise it should do it to become healthy.

How to care a Sugar Glider

A Sugar Glider is a nocturnal animal which a lot of people consider very pretty. The name is due to its taste for sugary food but it also eats spiders, moths, beetles and larvae insects. However, it needs many specific cares, so having this kind of pet is not an easy work

Firstly, they are very social animals which are not prepared to live alone. It is recommended that at least two of them live together so that they sleep, give love and attendances to each other. If it is not done, they will have health problems, self-mutilation or bites caused by depression.

At second place, they are habituated to jump, run and "fly" from one tree to other one. As a result, they must have a big space to live; cages for hamster, guinea pig or rabbit does not work. The adequate type of cage is called "Voladera", so if you are not going to buy it for this pet, you should think about buying other animal.

In brief, Sugar Gliders are beautiful animals with which you can play and have a good time, but the most important issue is how to care it. You must follow all the advices about its cares or they could fall ill. They are very interesting animals which can receive and give a lot of love.

  

Bank Holidays

It is the name attributed to a specific number of days in which people do not go to their jobs, universities, schools... This lack of attendance to our obligations is due to national, regional or local holidays. There were two Bank Holidays in the last week (on Saturday and on Monday), so we could enjoy, since Friday to Monday, of 4 free days. These days we had the opportunity to do what we wanted; some went out, a few people studied, and other ones (like me) travelled. I went to Granada and I had a good time so I am looking forward to more Bank Holidays which come quickly.

Black Friday

The day after Thanksgiving is known as "Black Friday". It is also the official start of holiday shopping season. Almost all stores cut their prices around the 50% so that people feel attracted in order to buy. People stand in a long queue for hours before stores are opened, to catch the bargain of the year. Almost every store has items which interest everyone. However, a lot of fights have been seen due to the sales. It is celebrated the last Friday of November. Although it is an American tradition, it has been celebrated in Spain with a lot of success by first time this year. It is said that it will have more success every year.

Living abroad has got infinite benefits for students. All of them come back home with a lot of experiences and new knowledges to tell.

Thesis statement

Living abroad is the best way to extend your knowledge because you can learn languages, discover different cultures and meet amazing people. It can be an exciting experience which a lot of students often perform. Nowadays, the number of students who go abroad is growing due to all the advantages.

If you want to learn another language, living abroad is a better option than any language school. This is due to the fact that you will have to deal with native people who will make you learn easily. In other way, if you already learn the languange, you can improve your accent and pronunciation of it.

As far as I am concerned, being a cultivated person is important and you can do it traveling. If you pass a lot of time in any abroad country, you will have the opportunity of going sightseeing and then, discover the most interesting places such as monuments, sculptures... In other way, you can learn the customs practised which are, most of the time, endemic.

Meeting new people is inevitable when you travel to places where you have never been. As a foreign, you need communicate with native people to discover unknown information as how to get to a place. Asking any doubt can be the beginning of a nice friendship or simply a person who disappears from your life quickly.

In short, living abroad has got infinite benefits for students. The challenge of living in a new environment can give them courage and self-confident. All of them come back home with a lot of experiences and new knowledges to tell.

Advantages and disadvantages

I want to talk about the advantages and disadvantages of catching the bus. On the one hand, catching the bus is a fact that makes you save up money because you do not spend it on petrol. It also avoids having to find a place to park (an issue which is difficult the majority of the times). Moreover, if you catch the bus you can be relaxed reading a book or listening to music. On the other hand, for catching the bus you must be on time at the bus stop or you will lose it and wait indefinitely to other one. In addition to this, if you catch the bus you will arrive slower to anywhere due to all the bus stops (where buses must stop). The worst of all is that, sometimes, there aren’t free seats to sit down and you must stay stand up. Although that catching the bus is an issue which helps the world to be ecological, I prefer not to do it.

Halloween

Halloween is a holiday annually celebrated on the 31st of October. At this time, people dress up as skeletons, ghosts or other scary characters. Although it is more celebrated in Anglo-Saxon countries such as United Kingdom or United States, it has become in a very popular holiday in Spain. Nevertheless, Spanish people celebrate it differently. Some people dress up, others prefer to wear normal clothes and the rest loves stay at home and watch horror films. For instance, I always go out with my friends on this day but I don't usually dress up. Definitely, there are a lot of opinions about how to celebrate Halloween or, even, if it should be celebrated, but me must respect all of them.

Block organisation

Living in a city and living in a village are facts with a lot of differences. When you live in a city, you have more stress due to the high amount of people and traffic jams. Added to this, factories are located there or in nearby areas, so there is more pollution. As a rule, cities are bigger and therefore it is more difficult that people know each other. Because of the dimension, there are more shops and facilities such as museums, swimming pools, discotheques or malls. However, living in a village is a different standart of living. When you live in a village, you can be relaxed in nature spaces surrounded, sometimes, of animals and trees. These nature spaces prevent that pollution exists and, the air is cleaner without industrialized areas. Because of the little dimesion, the space is destinated to shops of necessities like pharmacies or supermarkets. As usual, villages are smaller and people know each other. In brief, living in a city and living in a village are not similar experiences and there will always be people with different tastes about where to live.
